Susan Palmer, a native Texan, moved to Palm Beach, FL in 1994. She fell in love with the beachside community, and started decorating her own home in washed colors, and weathered furniture she picked up at antique shows and stores throughout the country. After selling several pieces from her own home, and picking up items for friends on her travels, Susan decided it was time to open up a shop with a casual, comfortable, beachy sensibility……
 
Island Home opened to the public in December 1999, and has become one of the most popular stores on the island. Town & Country wrote that it was one of “the stores not to miss” when you are in Palm Beach.
 
Susan has just added “Island Style” to her home furnishings collection. Lightweight, gauzy kaftans, chic metallic beach bags, jewelry, cashmere scarves and jeweled sandals are all available at Island Home.
